Latest CNC Production Fin Designs 2025

We are getting ready to put a large number of new templates into CNC production. Some of these designs are brand new, while others are older designs that have been resurrected and never made it into production. We are also adding a CNC-machined version of the WTF template.

Here is the complete list of new templates, and each will be discussed below.

WTF2-425, NRG-400, NRG-450, NRG-500, NRG-525, NRG-550, CNRD-300, CNRD-325, CNRD-350, CNRD-400, BW-425, BW-450, BW-500, BW-525, BW-550

Not all of the above templates will go into production at the same time, we will start with the most popular ones and then add the others based on demand.

WTF2-425 Series

The new WTF2-425 borrows some of the outline from the original, but makes some tweaks to the bottom section to allow for improved lift generation. The upper blade has also been extended further back for increased power and hold.

The fin now has a BLENDED-WING profile instead of the original double-bend. This new profile makes it more efficient while also allowing for CNC machining. Using this profile also thins out the upper blade, allowing for increased flex.

This has now become a much more versatile fin, and it will be well-suited for use as a back fin in a quad setup or as a canard in a twinzer. As before, it will also make an excellent side bite in a 2PLUS1 setup.

NRG Series

This is a series that we first designed back in 2016, it was always popular but it never made it into production. We decided to dust off teh design, slightly tweaked the template and completely upgraded the foiling.

This is an awesome and versatile fin. In the larger sizes it makes for an excellent twin fin. The combination of the large swept back blade and the narrow base give it the feel of a keel fin but with a lot of looseness. The large blade generates a lot of drive. Due to the shape and foiling of the fin there is virtually no flex so the response it instant.

Because of the area placement this fin can typically be ridden smaller than a more normal fin.

This series is a "base back" back design. What this means is that as the templates get larger the area of the fin moves back. The design is anchored at the leading edge and as the fin increases in size the base stays the same width, but the area increases.

As with all of our fins there is a strong HOLOFOIL on the inside face of this template. Additionally, there is a twist in the trailing edge that favors pushing the water off the inside face lower down on the fin.

It is great to be bringing this template back to life and finally getting it into production.

CNRD Series

Over the winter, we have been refining the designs for this range of canard fins. These are unique designs that all feature our BLENDED-WING tech. This feature allows a canard with more cant in the tip without needing to be added to the base, allowing the fin to be loose and responsive.

There are initially four sizes - CNRD-300, CNRD-325, CNRD-350, and CNRD-400.

They are offered with all of our standard bases. For a DUAL TAB base, only a single tab is used.

All of these fins feature our HOLOFOILS on the inside faces for improved performance.

The largest size in this series, CNRD-400, is also intended to be used as a back fin coupled with either the BW series discussed below or a number of our other designs--Q2, Q5, K9, or A4C.

BW Series

This brand-new design utilizes our BLENDED-WING tech to deliver a fin with remarkable performance. We developed the canard fins and designed a matching set of main fins. Like the CNRD series, these fins leverage the BLENDED-WING design concept to deliver a superb fin design, introducing the – BW series.

The design was driven by the BLENDED-WING concept and the desire to create a fin with a more balanced profile and area. Power was the main objective, as we already knew the BLENDED-WING would enhance the performance. The fins also feature a base forward design, so as the size increased, the center for the fin moved forward, enhancing the turning ability. The design has a good rake to improve projection out of turns. The outline features a more prominent trailing edge tip to enhance the fin's feel.

HOLOFOILS are featured on the inside face and are significantly enhanced due to the BLENDED-WING. The foil runs out through the tip of the blade. The outline also features a cutaway at the bottom of the trailing edge to further enhance the turning ability.

Due to the shape of the tip, there is more flex than a fin without the bend.

Although this series doesn’t have a dedicated center fin, any of the templates in the series can also be used as a center.

The smallest size in the series is intended to be used as a back fin in quad setups or as a front fin in reverse quads.
