WTF2-425 Twin Design

The original HRD-KORE WTF-425 was a very popular fin even though many people could not get their heads around the design. Once they tried it they were blown away by how versatile it was.

Once we moved all of our production to CNC machining this fin did not make the transition as it was to complex to machine and would have involved a lot of waste.

Finally, after much deliberation and experimentation we have figured out how to resurrect the design. This was largely the result of the development of our BLENDED-WING concept, which was the perfect solution for this design.

The new WTF2-425 borrows some of the outline from the original, but makes some tweaks to the bottom section to allow for improved lift generation. The upper blade has also been extended further back for increased power and hold.

The fin now has a BLENDED-WING profile instead of the original double-bend. This new profile makes it more efficient while also allowing for CNC machining. Using this profile also thins out the upper blade, allowing for increased flex.

This has now become a much more versatile fin, and it will be well-suited for use as a back fin in a quad setup or as a canard in a twinzer. As before, it will also make an excellent side bite in a 2PLUS1 setup.

It is exciting to see the return of this iconic fin, we can't wait to get it in the boards of a whole new generation of surfers.

Please take a look at one of our earlier posts that details how we got here!
